Biography
Wingy Manone (1900–1982) bent the trumpet’s melody toward vaudeville and the jazz clubs of New Orleans and beyond, pouring swagger and wit into every performance. His charismatic solos and gravelly vocals made him a beloved figure in the jazz community.
His recordings, leadership of spirited bands, and friendly banter made him a fixture of the jazz scene, and now he rests at Davis Memorial Park.
