Biography
Wladimir Nikolajewitsch Potjomkin was a Russian figure whose life spanned the turbulent period of the late Russian Empire and the revolutionary era. He became part of the Russian émigré diaspora that dispersed across Europe following the upheaval of 1917.
Potjomkin eventually settled at Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois near Paris, joining the Russian exile community that sought to preserve their cultural and social traditions in foreign lands. He lived there until his death in 1938, part of a generation of Russians who found refuge in France.
