Biography
Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer was a revered halachic authority whose luminous scholarship left a lasting imprint on Sephardic practice. His works, most notably Kaf HaChaim, compiled traditions and responsa with meticulous care, drawing from both the Shulchan Aruch and the spiritual insights of kabbalistic masters.
He spent his final years in Jerusalem, where he served as a bridge between scholarship and congregational life, guiding students and communities with humility and devotion before resting on the Mount of Olives.
