Biography
Yakov Agranov was a Soviet politician and security official born in 1893 who served in prominent positions within the Soviet secret police and political apparatus. He was a significant figure in Soviet security and political structures during the 1920s and 1930s.
Agranov was executed in 1938 during the Great Purge and his remains were disposed of at Kommunarka shooting ground, becoming a victim of the very system he had helped to build.
