Biography

Yury Belenogov was born in 1923 in Smolensk Oblast and grew up during the formative years of the Soviet state. He came of age during World War II, when the Soviet Union faced its greatest existential challenge.

Belenogov died in 1943, sacrificing his life during the critical middle years of the Great Patriotic War. His death represents the immense human cost borne by the Soviet people in their struggle against Nazi aggression.
