Biography
Yvonne Allendy composed essays and stories that gently examined the inner lives of Parisian women, drawing on her experiences in literary salons to craft prose that was both analytical and compassionate.
She encouraged others to find their voices and was known for hosting spirited discussions about art and society, and when she died in 1935 she was laid to rest at Montmartre Cemetery, her memory entwined with the neighborhood where she wrote.
