Zephaniah W. Bunce

Biography

Zephaniah W. Bunce (1787–1889) witnessed the transformation of the Lakeside region from early settlement into a vibrant community, dedicating his long life to farming, local governance, and neighborly counsel. He was respected for his hardworking nature and for embracing each new generation with stories of the land and steadfast encouragement.

Having lived to see a century of change, he left a legacy of continuity and measured optimism, and he rests in Lakeside Cemetery among the shoreline he loved.
