Biography

Zhou Zikun (1901–1941) was a Chinese military personnel whose brief life was marked by service during the Second Sino-Japanese War, one of the defining conflicts of twentieth-century Asia. Born in the early years of the Republic, Zhou Zikun came of age during a period of national crisis and military mobilization. His service represented the sacrifice of countless military officers who dedicated themselves to defending their nation during its hour of greatest peril.

Zhou Zikun's death in 1941, during the midst of the war against Japanese invasion, exemplified the human cost of China's struggle for survival and sovereignty. His burial in Nanjing, the former capital and a site of tremendous wartime suffering, serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by military personnel during this critical period of Chinese history.
