Biography
Zinaida Gippius was a Russian symbolist poet, novelist and critic whose bold imagination challenged conventions and whose salons nurtured the leading artists and thinkers of her generation.
In exile she kept the flame of Russian literature alive, guiding younger émigrés through turbulent times, and now rests at Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois Russian Cemetery.
