Zofia Ścibor-Rylska (1918–1999) lived through Poland's most significant historical transformations, from the interwar period through the end of the twentieth century. Her life encompassed the experiences of a generation that witnessed both tremendous hardship and eventual renewal in their homeland.
A woman of the twentieth century, Ścibor-Rylska's long life and burial at the distinguished Powązki Cemetery testify to her place in Polish society and the respect she earned throughout her years.
