Biography

Zsigmond Simonyi (1853–1919) was a prominent Hungarian Esperantist and advocate for international linguistic cooperation. A passionate supporter of the Esperanto movement, Simonyi dedicated himself to the vision of a universal language that could promote peace and understanding among the nations of the world.

Simonyi's work in the Esperanto movement reflected the idealistic spirit of the early 20th century, when many intellectuals believed that language could serve as a bridge between cultures. He was buried at the Fiume Road Graveyard, where he rests among other notable Hungarian figures of his generation.
