Biography
Zygmunt Bąkowski was born in 1911 and came of age during Poland's interwar period. He lived through the establishment of the Polish Second Republic and witnessed the dramatic events that would define his generation.
Bąkowski's life ended in 1944 during World War II. He is memorialized at Cmentarz Bródnowski, representing the many Poles whose lives were shaped by the conflicts of the mid-twentieth century.
