Biography

Boris Ivanovich Stolbin was a military leader whose service to his country could not protect him from political persecution. He fell victim to the paranoia and violence of the Great Purge.

His execution at the Butovo firing range in 1937 represents the tragic fate of many military officers purged during Stalin's terror.
