Biography

Abdülaziz (1830–1876) was an Ottoman Sultan and writer whose reign marked a significant period in Ottoman history. His intellectual interests and literary pursuits reflected the cultural sophistication of the Ottoman court during the nineteenth century.

Abdülaziz's legacy encompasses both his role as a ruler and his contributions to Ottoman letters. He was interred in the Mausoleum of Mahmud II, a fitting final resting place for an Ottoman sovereign.
