Biography
Akaki Papava (1890–1964) kept the flame of Georgian letters alive in exile through poetry, essays, and the encouragement of young writers, believing that language carried the deepest truths of a people.
He found a home with fellow émigrés at Leuville-sur-Loire and was laid to rest in the Leuville Cemetery, where his contributions to cultural continuity are still celebrated.
