Al Simmons thrilled baseball fans as a left fielder for the Philadelphia Athletics and other major league clubs, earning a reputation as one of the game's most consistent hitters and eventually receiving Baseball Hall of Fame honors.
Even after he hung up his spikes, he stayed connected to the sport and shared stories with young players, and he is remembered fondly at Saint Adalbert Cemetery.
