Biography

Alanson Hodges Hough, born in 1803, held fast to principles of honor and diligence, traits that earned him the admiration of those who knew him. He approached every undertaking with thoughtful care, whether in family matters, community obligations, or the nurturing of long-standing friendships.

His steady example provided a reassuring presence during turbulent times, and he remained a faithful figure in the lives of others until his death. In 1886 he was laid to rest at Prospect Hill Cemetery, where he is remembered with reverence.
