Alexander Radishchev (1749–1802) was a pioneering Russian writer and social critic whose bold literary works challenged the intellectual conventions of his era. His most famous work, "A Journey from Saint Petersburg to Moscow," presented a searing critique of serfdom and social injustice, establishing him as one of Russia's earliest voices for reform and enlightenment ideals.
