Biography

Alexei Zherebtsov (1758–1819) lived through one of the most significant periods in Russian history, witnessing the reign of Catherine the Great and the early years of Alexander I's rule. Though limited biographical information survives, his long life of sixty-one years places him among the witnesses to major transformations in Russian society and culture.

Zherebtsov was interred at Lazarev Cemetery, indicating his connection to Moscow's prominent families and his place within the city's social fabric during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
