Biography

Alfred Charles True devoted his professional life to agricultural science and the belief that research could raise living standards for farmers across the nation. He headed offices within the Department of Agriculture that encouraged experiment stations to share discoveries so that producers might benefit from modern techniques.

True championed clearer communication between scientists and rural families, and his efforts helped seed a more collaborative approach to cultivation and stewardship; he finds repose at Flushing Cemetery in recognition of his service to the land.
