Biography
Amasa Cobb rose from his early years in the Midwest to serve as a Union brigadier general during the Civil War and later took up residence in Nebraska, where he was chosen to represent the state in Congress for five terms.
He returned to practicing law and served on the Nebraska Supreme Court, remaining a steady presence in civic life while supporting veterans and institutions that steadied the young state.
