Amasa Dana

Biography

Amasa Dana, born in 1792, lived through a century of civic evolution, contributing to the collective well-being of Ithaca through his steady presence and quiet stewardship. Though no record of public office survives here, he would no doubt have supported the rhythms of daily community life.

He passed from life in 1867 and was interred in Ithaca City Cemetery, where his gravesite is among many who built the city’s foundations. His legacy endures in the calm dignity of those places that preserve his memory.
