Biography

Naturalist Amos William Butler guided Hoosier appreciation of the outdoors through his writings, lectures, and leadership in scientific organizations such as the Indiana Academy of Science. He cataloged regional flora and fauna, organized field studies, and encouraged citizens to protect the natural beauty of the state.
