Frederick Knefler

Biography

Frederick Knefler was born in 1824 and, after building a career as a lawyer, answered the call to lead troops during the Civil War, rising to the rank of officer through a combination of strategic care and compassion for the men he commanded. His steady presence in battle earned him the respect of both comrades and superiors.
