Andreas Benade

Biography

Andreas Benade was born in 1769 and lived through the American Revolution and the early decades of the nation's history. He witnessed the transformation of colonial settlements into established communities and institutions.

Andreas passed away in 1859 at an advanced age and was interred at Moravian Cemetery. His long life, spanning nearly ninety years, connected the colonial period with the eve of the Civil War, making him a living link to America's earliest history.
