Antonín Žurek

Biography

Antonín Žurek (1919–1996) was a Czech individual who lived through the most turbulent decades of twentieth-century European history. Born in the aftermath of World War I, he witnessed the rise and fall of multiple political regimes across Central Europe.

Žurek's life spanned from the interwar period through the Cold War era into the final years of the twentieth century. He was buried at Olšany Cemetery, Prague's historic burial ground that serves as a final resting place for many notable Czech citizens.
