Biography
Arend Hijner was born in 1922 and worked as a chemist, applying scientific knowledge and technical expertise to his profession. His work in chemistry represented the intellectual contributions of his generation to Dutch society and industry.
Hijner's life was ended by World War II in 1945, at the young age of 23. He is commemorated at the Dutch Honorary Cemetery in Bloemendaal, where his grave stands among those of countless others who lost their lives during this devastating conflict.
