Biography
Jan Niklaas Veldman answered the call to defend the values of his homeland with steady resolve, joining the resistance as a means to oppose tyranny. His work involved supporting underground networks that supplied vital intelligence and aid to those persecuted by occupying forces.
Jan’s patience and willingness to place others ahead of himself made him a pillar within his cell, and even in the darkest hours he stayed true to the ideals that inspired him. He rests in honor at the Dutch Honorary Cemetery Bloemendaal, where his bravery is quietly commemorated.
