Biography
Han van Zomeren, born in 1920, was a young man whose hunger for knowledge was matched only by his love of his homeland. He saw the injustice unfolding and resolved not to let his country languish under fear.
Van Zomeren joined the resistance, assisting with clandestine operations that supported those fleeing persecution and helped keep the hope of freedom alive. Arrested early in the war, he was executed in 1941 and now rests at the Dutch Honorary Cemetery Bloemendaal, a quiet witness to the bravery of youth.
