Aretas B. Fleming

Biography

Aretas B. Fleming (1839-1923) answered the call to public service in West Virginia, eventually serving as governor during a period that required patience, diplomacy, and unshakeable integrity. His steady hand helped guide the state through the contested election of 1890 and beyond.
