Arthur Henderson, born in 1863, rose from trade union roots to become a Labour politician and parliamentary leader, persistently campaigning for workers' rights and international cooperation.

In 1934 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for efforts in disarmament, and his final resting place is at Golders Green, marking a life spent striving for peace and social reform.
