Biography

Arthur M. Hyde devoted his adult life to public service, rising from Missouri roots to serve as governor and later as the United States Secretary of Agriculture, where he worked to stabilize rural economies and advocate for responsible government stewardship of farming communities.

He carried a sense of decency and fairness into each office he held, earning the respect of colleagues and constituents alike before passing in 1947; his memory is honored at Trenton Cemetery where he rests among the people he strove to serve.
