Biography

Arthur Martin-Leake devoted his life to military medicine, first tending wounded volunteer regiments in the Boer War and later working tirelessly in the trenches of the Great War. His calm steadiness under fire and refusal to leave the injured behind became hallmarks of his service.

He continued to care for veterans and to share the lessons of compassion and precision that defined him, leaving a legacy of tenderness amid turmoil; he is commemorated at St John the Evangelist Churchyard.
