Biography
Arthur Willard Pryor was a gifted conductor and composer who guided concert bands with precision and passion, following in the tradition of Austria’s great maestros while adding an American flair. His work as a trombonist and arranger brought many new audiences to the brassy warmth of band music.
He composed marches and light pieces that remain favorites in the band repertoire, and he inspired a generation of musicians through his leadership and dedication to musical excellence.
