Biography
Asa Lovejoy was among the early pioneers who laid the groundwork for the city of Portland; he helped plan the townsite, served in the territorial legislature, and worked to unite the community during its formative years.
Throughout his life he remained dedicated to Oregon’s growth, encouraging commerce and education, and his spirit endures at Lone Fir Cemetery.
