Beauchamp Tyndall Pell

d. 1914

Biography

Beauchamp Tyndall Pell was a military officer whose early promise was cut short in 1914 as the war’s opening months swept through Belgium’s fields. He was among the officers who kept lines intact when the chaos of the retreat threatened morale, offering encouragement and a ready smile even when the next summons was uncertain.

He is remembered at Zantvoorde British Cemetery, where the young officer’s name marks the courage of those who stepped forward in the first tumultuous year of the conflict.
