Benjamin Tappan

Biography

Benjamin Tappan was born in 1773 and lived through the American Revolution and the founding of the nation. He witnessed the establishment of the United States and the development of its early institutions and communities.

Benjamin passed away in 1857 at an advanced age and was interred at Union Cemetery-Beatty Park. His long life connected the colonial era with the post-Civil War period, spanning nearly a century of American history.
