Bill Madden brought passion to every Australian rules football contest, encouraging others through his quiet leadership and relentless work ethic.
In service during the tumult of 1917 he gave his life for his country, and those who knew him remember him with reverence at the Villers–Bretonneux Australian National Memorial.
