Boris Vakhtin

Biography

Boris Vakhtin (1907–1938) was a Soviet journalist whose career was dedicated to the written word during the formative years of the Soviet state. As a journalist, he participated in the cultural and informational work of his time, documenting the changes unfolding across the nation.

Vakhtin's execution at Kommunarka in 1938 during the Great Purge silenced his voice and ended a promising career. He is remembered as one of many journalists and intellectuals whose lives were lost to the political terror of the Stalin era.
