Biography
Borys Barvinskyi (1888-1980) was a statesman of the Ukrainian national movement and an accomplished composer who, as minister of education, championed schools and conservatories rooted in Ukrainian language and culture.
Even after living through the upheavals of exile, he taught, mentored younger musicians, and kept the flame of Ukrainian creativity alive, now remembered at Saint Andrew Cemetery for a life of service to education and the arts.
