Biography

Bucky Williams broke barriers as one of the stalwarts of Negro League baseball, earning respect for his steady hitting and sharp instincts outfielding. He played for the Homestead Grays and other clubs, helping to shape the path for African American ballplayers who followed in his footsteps.

After retiring from the diamond, he remained a mentor to young athletes, sharing stories of perseverance and pride in the game’s history. He rests at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, a beloved figure whose long life spanned the evolving story of America’s national pastime.
