Carl Christian Rafn was a distinguished Danish writer and scholar whose intellectual contributions shaped Danish cultural and literary discourse in the 19th century. Born in 1795, he engaged with the major intellectual movements of his time and produced works of lasting significance.

Rafn's scholarly pursuits and literary endeavors made him a respected figure in Danish intellectual circles. He continued his work until his death in 1864 and was honored with burial at Assistens Cemetery, a cemetery that serves as a final resting place for many of Denmark's most celebrated cultural figures.
