Charles Carroll of Doughoregan

Biography

Charles Carroll of Doughoregan, born in 1801, preserved the Doughoregan Manor estate while stewarding extensive farmland and supporting the Catholic community, carrying forward the principles of his prominent Carroll ancestors.

He maintained the family’s hospitality, aided charitable causes, and upheld the agricultural traditions of the estate so that even after his death in 1862 others could inherit a strong and generous legacy.
