Biography

Charles Edgar Clark rose through the ranks of the United States Navy, earning acclaim for commanding the USS Oregon during the Spanish-American War and demonstrating the resolve of officers who answered the call to protect the nation’s interests.

His leadership, both at sea and in shore posts, inspired subordinates and cemented his reputation for tenacity and fair judgment, and his memory now rests in the solemn grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.
