Biography

Charles Henry Tompkins graduated from West Point and earned distinction as a Union officer during the Civil War, receiving the Medal of Honor for his bravery in the field.

He continued to serve his country after the war and later settled near Washington, D.C., resting now at Oak Hill Cemetery as a reminder of both valor and quiet service.
