Charles K. Graham balanced a career in medicine and military service, rising to command in the Civil War while also offering his skills as an engineer and civil servant afterward.

His steady leadership and civic contributions marked the decades that followed, and he was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in 1889 where his legacy is preserved.
