Biography
Christopher C. Upson studied law and moved from the Carolinas to Texas, where he became a trusted advocate for his neighbors and eventually represented them in the U.S. House of Representatives during a pivotal Reconstruction period.
He worked to rebuild civic institutions, kept a steady eye on the needs of his district, and later returned to legal practice while remaining involved in community affairs until his passing in 1902.
