Biography

Christopher Grant Champlin was a merchant of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries who participated in the commercial life of his era. As a merchant, he was part of the mercantile class that drove economic development and trade during the early years of the American republic.

Champlin's involvement in commerce reflected the entrepreneurial spirit of his time and contributed to the economic foundations of his community. His legacy as a merchant and community member is preserved in historical records and in the Common Burying Ground where he was interred.
