Biography

Claus Lauritz Clausen, born in 1820 in Denmark, answered a higher call as a Lutheran minister and became a beloved spiritual leader for Norwegian immigrants across the Upper Midwest. He helped found congregations, led worship with compassion, and championed education through teaching and publishing, guiding people through the uncertainties of a new land.

He died in 1892 and is interred at Oakwood Cemetery, where the faithful continue to honor the pilgrim who helped sow the seeds of faith and fellowship among his countrymen.
