Conrad Gansevoort

Biography

Conrad Gansevoort (1761-1829) was a member of the distinguished Gansevoort family of Albany, New York, a family known for their prominence in colonial and early federal commerce and society. He lived through the American Revolution and the formative decades of the United States.

Gansevoort's life reflected the experiences of the Dutch-American merchant class during a period of significant change in the Hudson Valley region. He was buried in Albany Rural Cemetery, a testament to his family's enduring prominence in the community.
